From behind 1.08

Arthur Conan Doyle believed in ghosts, telepathy, psychic powers, automatic writing, clairvoyance, fairies, communication with the dead, ectoplasm [...] The exhibition at the British Library includes an entertaining oddity - a recording of what purports to be the "spirit voice" of Doyle himself, recorded at a séance four years after his death. Needless to say, the voice on the tape seems nothing like our extant recordings of the author, sounding instead like what it almost certainly was - a quavery-voiced actor grappling with a peripatetic Scots accent and muttering incomprehensibly about the "mysteries of the great divide."
